Loran graduated from the University of Cincinnati with a Bachelor of Science degree in Graphic Design. During her studies, she completed cooperative work experiences at various multidisciplinary design firms, which sparked her interest in Experiential Design. After graduation, she worked for Adidas and Reebok's Sports License Division in Boston, MA, and later at Infinite Scale in Salt Lake City, UT, as a Senior Designer.

Recently, Loran completed a Master of Design degree from the University of Cincinnati. As part of her master's thesis, she designed an interdisciplinary Experiential Design certificate program for post-secondary design education. The College of DAAP faculty also selected her as an Outstanding Student in her graduating year. Additionally, Loran taught ten courses to undergraduate Communication Design students as an Adjunct Instructor for two years.
As the Design Research Leader and Educator at Live Well Collaborative, Loran led projects through the design thinking process and oversaw all active projects each semester. She is also an active member of the SEGD Academic Task Force.
